HouseJoy acquires Orobind, ‘At Home’ fitness startup

HouseJoy, an Indian startup providing on demand services has acquired another home based service provider, Orobind. However, Orobind is limited to providing fitness related services. The teams of the deal were not disclosed.

Orobind was launched in 2014 by IIT Alumnis Satya Vyas and Shubhanshu Shrivastava. It connects the customers who are looking for fitness related services to the trusted personal coaches. Currently, the startup boasts of serving over 1000 customers in Bangalore area alone with the help of 135 registered personal coaches. The service is home based and it works as a subscription model. It had recently raised angel round from the likes of Ramakant Sharma, Harpreet Singh Grover, Zishaan Hayath and Lalit Mangal.

As a part of the deal, which includes database of customers, technology and the trainers, the team will move to HouseJoy.

Speaking on the development, Saran Chatterjee, CEO – Housejoy stated that the latest deal is one of the steps towards their strategy of becoming the leader in services which have high repeat order rates. HouseJoy is trying to create an environment around the services related to Beauty, Wellness and fitness. In the same initiative, the cooperation of Orobind will come handy because of their growing userbase and over the top technology. Also, Orobind has the team which understands the fitness market well.

This comes as the second acquisition by housejoy. Before this, the startup had acquired MyWash, online laundry service player.
