Gurgaon based Spinny, has announced its merger with Delhi based online used car marketplace, HopCar. Post merger, the startups will work under the brand name of Spinny. Also, post this deal, all the co-Founders of HopCar, Arijit Biswas, Rahul Thakur, Anish Karan, and Rahul Anand, will join Spinny as core team members.
After merger, the new entity will look forward to expand its operations to Bangalore as well as other TIER 1 and TIER 2 cities in the country.
Spinny was founded in April last year by Niraj (IIT Delhi Alumni), Ramanshu Mathur (Former Adobe Executive) and Ganesh Pawar and Mohit Gupta (Former Flipkart Executives). According to Niraj, Spinny was built to bridge the gap faced by the buyers and sellers of used cars for the lack of information available. With the help of a 200 points checklist, Spinny does the critical analysis of the car and its price to help the buyer know the exact condition of the car and to help the seller to get the right deserved price.
While Spinny was more of a tech-driven solution to help the car owners sell their cars, HopeCar, started in August last year, used to connect buyers directly to sellers to increase transparency and build better trust among the two parties.
Speaking on the merger, Arijit commented that the merger will allow the team to work with a better vision and the teams will compliment each other to achieve better success in the time to come.
