By | September 25, 2014

Undoubtedly Moto X, Moto G and Moto E are the best budget smartphones from Motorola in their ranges. They feature the premium design and build quality, hardware specifications and all these runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat Operating System. Moto G has done exceptionally good business followed by Moto E and Moto X. Coming to the Moto X, by default it displays the network name or the carrier logo on the left side of the status bar. It is quite annoying thing, because the network name occupies major part of the notification area leaving no space for the notifications to display.

If you don’t want your Moto X to display the network name in the status bar, then follow the simple tutorial given below. To hide the network name displaying on the notification bar, you need to update your Moto X to Android 4.4.4 KitKat. If you have not updated then go to Settings>About Phone>System updates and check for the available update. If update is available then download the update.

How to hide network name in Moto X status bar

  • After updating your Moto x to Android 4.4.4 KitKat version, open the phone settings>Mobile network settings
  • Uncheck the option, Show mobile network.

That’s it you are done, from now it will not display the network name in the status bar and that space can be used to display other notifications as well. The same method is also applicable for Moto G and Moto E as well, if they are updated to Moto G and Moto E.
