Today Android is the most successful operating system in this planet for tablet and smartphones. But many of people who say they love Android very much don’t know the real fact which I guess you should know.

1. Android was not a Google’s idea

Android was proposed by Andy Rubin, he is also the founder of Android Inc. Andy established this company in October 2003 to offer totally a new kind of platform to the users. In the year of 2005, Google bought Android Inc in 2005 and hired Andy Rubin as head of Android Inc.

2. Android was about to close

When the company was established, it was difficult for Andy to run it smoothly and to carry out everyday business operations. It is said that Steve Perlman a tech legend has saved this company by providing enough fund to his company.

3. When Microsoft underestimated Android

Microsoft’s Scott Horn, he was he was the head of Windows mobile head, was underestimating and commented “I don’t understand the impact they are going to have”.

4. The first code name of Android was only related to food

According to the Google’s DanMorril, the first every Android when it was in Alpha phase released in 2007 was named as R2-D2.

5. Resolution introduced was introduced in version 1.6

Resolution scaling was introduced for the first time in Donut and Android 1.6. This led to modern and sophisticated version of Android.

7. The first Android smartphone HTC G1

HTC Dream – The first Android smartphone was released under Google’s operating system in October of 2008. HTC dream is also known as T-Mobile HTC G1. This was the first device to directly compete with Apple’s iPhone.

8. Fact behind the Android Logo

Google after undertaking the Android, designed the logo which is influenced from a Atari game called “Gauntlet: The Third Encounter”.
