Happily Unmarried, Delhi based marketplace for youth targeted fun products, has raised an additional $740K (INR 5 Cr) from Info Edge (India). With the latest investment, Info Edge now holds 48% stakes in Happily Unmarried and its total investment in the startup comes to INR 21.3 Cr ($3.2 Million). Earlier this year, Info Edge had invested INR 5 Cr (the amount same as this time).
Started in 2003 by Rahul Anand and Rajat Tuli, Happily Unmarried works on a hybrid model including both online and offline stores. The products are mainly targeted towards youth. Recently, it has also come with a man-only brand which sells grooming products under the brand name, Ustraa.
Happily Unmarried has also been organizing music festivals and it works with bigger corporate houses for projects which involve things like branding, communication, marketing and interiors. Some of the products designed and sold by the portal include beer glasses, bags, cards, posters, cushions, glasses, key chains, TShirts and Wall clocks.
Info Edge, the company which owns a portfolio of popular internet services in India including 99acres, JeevanSathi, Naukri and Shiksha, has been pretty active in the investment scene lately. Some of the startups backed by the company lately include Diro Labs (Contacts Management startup), Unnati Helpers (Housing Service Provider), Rare Media Company (Mobile and Cloud software developer), Zomato, Canvera Digital Tech, MyDala, Big Stylist and PolicyBazaar.
