Google has started rolling out update to Google Play Store by bringing it to the version 5.0.31. This update is bringing the pretty comprehensive redesign with in the Android’s latest material design guidelines. This update starts with the new “flatter” play store icon and continues through out the app with the bold colors, some useful animations and better applications of shadows and coloring.

After getting the update you will immediately notice the new animations for the slide-in panel and the newly associated hamburger button which changes to the way, the “Whats new” section of the app listing is highlighted and properly displayed. App listings doesn’t changed themselves dramatically, a lot of that has came in the last update, but everything in the search results and installed apps list has come up to the speed.

Apart from this artistic changes, updated play store feels really snappy and still we need to notice any other chop, slowdowns or loading screens. Still there is doubt regarding, is this is the just animation trick or the real improvement, but it feels certainly better. Whats new section is now highlighted in green and once you click on it you no longer have to scroll the way down. It is a one-two punch design and function which has excited us for the future Material design updates of other Google apps.

If you are not seeing any update of Google Play Store on your phone just be patient. Generally all the Google apps will be rolled out for few weeks after releasing. Let it roll to you and you will get it soon enough and avoid the problems in future by not having the oddball version.
