Following the footsteps of Apple and Spotify, Google Play Music is also going to offer podcast through its music streaming service. Google opens a dedicated portal for its music streaming service. The Alphabet Company has started allowing podcast creators to upload their shows to the Google Play Music. Currently, the company is trying to add as many podcasters as it can add to its service.
Google has announced about this on its Android Blog. Now, Google Play Music will allow its users to listen to the podcast shows in coming months. Google launched a portal for podcast, where podcasters can upload their shows.
Google Play Music will connect its users to podcast shows “based on what they’re doing, how they’re feeling, or what they’re interested in.” It will also have a direct search and browsing option for podcast. Google also wrote on its blog, “Similar to our contextual playlists for music, this will give podcast fans and new listeners a way of finding and listening to content that’s unique to Google Play Music”
Podcasters can upload their show on Google Play Music service in U.S. now. As of now, some of the most popular podcasters have signed in for the service. Google Play Music entry into podcasting business is a good sign for the podcasts, as it shows the growing popularity of this service.
