Google Play allows movie pre-ordering in USA

Google has introduced the curious new movie pre-order in the Google Play Store and only for the USA users for now. This feature allow you to pay for the upcoming movies in advance ahead of their digital releases. Right now there are only 15 movies to choose from which includes TMNT, 22 Jump Street, Guardians of the Galaxy and more.


The process of pre-ordering the movies through Google Play is very easy. Basically you check out the list first and hit the pre-order button on the movies that you are interested in and you can follow through the checkout process. After ordering the movie, you will receive an email receipt and on the day movie becomes available you will receive another email alerting you that the movie is ready to watch.

How to pre-order movies on Google Play

  • First check out the list of pre-orders available
  • Select the tile you want and click the pre-order button
  • If you are first time to Google Play then you will be asked to enter the credit card details, but you will not the charged until the movie is delivered.
  • After this you will receive an email receipt and your order will be added to¬†My Movies
  • When the movie becomes available, you will again receive an email confirming your purchase and delivery of the movie to your library.

Here you are pre-ordering the digital item which you can’t run out and based on the details you provided it doesn’t seem to the any special incentives like reducing the price earlier than the regular release dates for the movies.
