Google Photos has reached an impressive milestone of 100 million active monthly users after breaking free of Google+ in May. Google had launched the standalone photo sharing service for Web, Android and iOS platform back in May.
This new milestone of Google Photos is very impressive. 100 million active monthly users for Google Photos is not very surprising, as users can now sign up for this service without Google+ account. Google+ account was a mandatory requirement for its older photo service. Google has reached this milestone in just five months period, which makes it even more special.
This new standalone app of Google Photos is better and attractive than the any other cloud; it gives users options to store unlimited amount of 16MP photos and 1080p videos in the cloud and that also for fee of cost. This makes this app more attractive than its competitor including Apple’s iCloud.
Google Photos app also comes with editing and auto syncing option. The users can also share their photos or videos through links instead of emails. This app also provides GIF animation creations features. Google Photos automatically groups photos on the basis of people, time, things and places.
Along with this 100 million active users milestone, company has also announced that the auto upload feature of Google Photos has freed up to 3,720 terabytes of storage space from user’s smartphones.
