Google Maps update to v8.3 with Hindi support and updates wear app

By | September 1, 2014

Google has released Google Maps update for Android platform recently and this update has brought the Google Maps to the version v8.3. This is an OTA update which has been updated automatically and you are wondering what is inside the new update, no need to wonder, here is the complete changelog of the latest Google Maps update. Changelog is very short and it is not particularly of great interest unless you are Hindi speaker.

Here is the changelog of the Google Maps v8.3 update

  • Google Maps now supports Hindi
  • Android Wear app was improved such as navigation notifications and more
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements

Although, it is not a big changelog and the update is also not so impressive, the improved notifications on the wear devices is probably the welcome change and though some of the Wear devices are out in the wild at this point that it is something that most of the people won’t notice it. Adding the Hindi language support is good news for the Hindi speakers.

This update seems to be no longer in the staged formation and nothing else has jumped out at us upon the close inspection of the updated Google Maps app. With the added support for the Android Wear now you can access the Google Maps right from your wrist, it will be more comfortable when you are riding a vehicle and looking out for the directions.

If you have not received the update then you can download the Google Maps from Play Store which is availble for free.
