Google Maps gets better today in India. The slow network connection is very common in India, so you may don’t find your data plan working while travelling or at some places. Sometime this can be very frustrating that you are trying to find some new places on your mobile, but you have lost your internet connection. Now, you don’t have to worry much, as Google has a solution to this problem.

Google has launched new offline functionality on Google Maps, which will show you turn by turn directions along with some other functions. This new feature of Google Maps will show you direction and details about the place you want to go without wasting your internet data.

You can download a particular area of the world to your smartphone if you are using Google Maps, which will help you in searching for some places at that area without any internet connections. To download any area, you just have to search for that area and click on “Download” button. Or you just have to navigate to the “Offline Areas” of Google Maps menu and tap on the “+” button. Once you download any particular area, Google Maps will work without any internet connection.

Suren Ruhela, Director at Google Maps said, “Having a spotty internet connection shouldn’t mean you miss your next turn. With the launch of these new offline features, like turn by turn navigation and the ability to search for places, we hope it will be easier for people in India to find their way using Google maps.”

This feature was first announced at the Google I/O and now the search giant is rolling out this feature to some other countries. This feature is available in India.
