Gomalan acquires BookMySpa for $1.8 million

Gomalan, a wellness services startup has acquired BookMySpa, salon and spa booking portal for around $1.8 million.

Founded in 2013 by Sriharsha BK, the Indian startup BookMySpa is an online wellness platform that allows users to book online appointments for spa, salon, ayurveda, reflexology & wellness centers. The startup books around 40 appointments per day. Operating in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, it will continue to function for the next six months. On the other hand, Gomalon, operating in Bengaluru, lists wellness services on its platform.



Following the acquisition, Gomalon would have more than 2000 vendors listed on its platform. It allow users to find spas, salons, fitness and wellness centers in Bengaluru. The core proprietary technologies and algorithms of Bookmyspa would help Gomalon to synchronize customers, hairdressers, makeup artists and other salon staff’s average wait time by more than three times, resulting in a better customer experience and optimization of salon operations.



Sriharsha BK said, “We wanted to scale further and needed a strong board guiding us on it. With Gomalon, it all fell in place. With Gomalon now has the strength of more than 2000 vendors listed on the platform and an experienced team that understands the space very well.” Further to the acquisition, Sriharsha would join as the new head of Product Management at Gomalon.
