Golflan raises funds from YourNest. YourNest is early stage angel fund has funded the startup with an undisclosed amount recently.
Golflan website owned by Raghav Corporate Solutions (RCS) P Ltd founded in 2013 by Dhruv Verma. Dhruv Verma is an avid golfer himself. The name Golflan was derived from Golf and LAN- Local Area Network. The website integrated world first golf centric online communities that allow golfers across globe to gather at a unique platform.
Golflan offers subscription services to play golf across several golf courses across the globe without having membership in the respective clubs. The company also offers learning courses at affordable prices.
Golflan offers Tee Booking System, an advanced golf booking software. The software can be customizable for golf courses across the world to assist in digitizing of the booking system.
Apart from these services, Golflan offers marketplace for selling of golf equipments that contribute to 18 per cent revenue to the company. The vertical has 11 third party vendors on board.
The company offers marketing solutions by liaising with the premium brands to create highly targeted marketing initiatives that include online and offline. Golflan has big names in their clientele – Deutsche Bank, Indian Oil, MetLife, SKODA and Citi Bank are few from the list.
They have also tied with media partners like NEO prime and NEO Sports and their associate partners are Emirates Golf Federation.
The company headed by Dhruv Verma, he is Chief Executive Officer. He has diverse experience in education and professional career. He is Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Delhi University and has done post graduation in business administration and specialisation in marketing from Symbiosis, Pune.
He started his career as Training Manager – Branch Banking and Wealth Management in Standard Chartered Bank in 2003. Dhruv worked in Standard Chartered for almost 4.5 years. In 2008 he became Head of Sales Support and Training – India Division of CPP Group Plc. He was part of the core team to start the India Operations for the company. He was actively involved in planning and execution of the India centric business strategy.
In 2012 Dhruv became Head of Sales, Marketing and Distribution of Aircel. He worked in Aircel for a year and founded Golflan.
The company has generated revenue of Rs.1.34 crores for the financial year ending 2014. However revenue is expected to double up this financial year end 2015. Golflan expects a higher revenue target of Rs 15 crores by financial year close of 2015 – 16.
Golflan received an undisclosed amount as seed fund from YourNest Angel Fund recently. The company is in talks to hire technical staff that includes chief technology officer associated with e commerce company. They want to scale up its web presence for its e store and online tee time booking services.
On the whole this exclusive and one only website is poised for higher growth in the coming years.
