Rumors are rife regarding the Apple iPhone models that are slated to be announced this year and it was tipped that these could be the world’s slimmest smartphones launched so far. But, this situation is all set to change now as the Chinese smartphone maker Gionee appears to be prepping the world’s thinnest smartphone sometime soon.
Gionee announced the launch of Elife S5.5 last year and this is the thinnest 5.5 mm smartphone so far. Now, the vendor is involved in making an even thinner phone that is currently dubbed Gionee GN9005 and it was spotted on TENAA with a thin profile of only 5 mm thickness weighing 94.6 grams.
While the Elife S5.5 is a high-end offering with a premium build and finish, the Gionee GN9005 sounds like a mid-ranger with moderate hardware aspects and technical specifications. It is tipped to come with a 4.8 inch HD 720p display incorporating a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor of unspecified chipset. The device is claimed to run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS and equip 1 GB of RAM.
The phone is likely to include 16 GB of internal storage space that cannot be expanded, 2,050 mAh battery and an 8 MP primary facer coupled with a 5 MP front snapper. The handset uses China specific TD-LTE connection and appears bear the China Mobile logo.
