German-based StyleLounge raises $2.56 million in Series A funding

StyleLounge, a German clothing metasearch engine, has raised $2.56 million in series A funding round led by TA Ventures along with other investors Axivate Capital, Astutia Ventures and a number of family offices and Felix Jahn, founder of Home24 and former managing director of Rocket Internet, who is also supported the startup during launch as a business angel.

Started in early 2015, the Hamburg-based StyleLounge is a price comparison portalĀ  that allows its user to compare the prices and availability of fashion products on the Internet. The portal has onboard around 100 online stores and deals with more than one million products. It includes Zalando, the Otto offshoot About You and the online store of Adidas.

The founder and the CEO of the company Johannes Heinen said the company’s metasearch engine aims to reduce the overwhelming feel customers get when they are bombarded with range of clothing and lifestyle options the Internet can provide. It does so by enabling price comparison across all the stores (includes vouchers, discounts, shipping and returns), check the availability of the product across all the stores and displaying products from more than 100 stores which makes the site a one-stop destination.



With more than 50 employees, the company makes revenue from the leads it generates. Heinen explains, “We work closely with our partner shops to ensure high quality traffic and the best possible campaign performance. Our partners pay us a cost-per-click (CPC) that is optimized on the basis of the traffic performance that we deliver.”
