Today, Garmin has unveiled two new underwater heart rate monitors named HRM-Tri and HRM-Swim, which are designed for swimmers, as swimmer are the one, who finds it really tough to choose fitness gadgets. Here both the devices are designed for minimal drag through water. These devices are specifically made for swimmers and triathletes and these devices will be able to store data of up to 20 hours during swimming. When you come out of the water, you can sync the data with the compatible devices like Fenix 3, Fenix 2, Forerunner 620 and Epix watches as well as Forerunner 920XT multisport watch of Garmin.

The HRM-Tri is smaller and lighter than the other and is made for triathletes, which captures the heart rate data during every part of the workout, which includes swimming, cycling and running. This device also comes with an adjustable strap and is capable of providing running dynamics like vertical oscillation, ground contact time and cadence.

Whereas HRM-Swim as the name suggests is ideal for swimming and comes with a non slippery strap, which keeps it to the position and stops from slipping under water. This device stores the heart rate data under the water. This device also sends the real time data to its compatible watch, when you come out of the water for rest.
This HRM-Tri comes with 10 month replaceable battery options, while HRM-Swim comes with 18 month battery replaceable option. Both the devices can also be used with Garmin Connect software to analyze detailed matrix of your workouts or pool swim.
