Folder support coming to Windows Phone 8.1

The Windows Phone 8.1 update first ever introduced with Nokia Lumia 630, Lumia 635 and Lumia 930. Now this update will be available for the Windows Phone 8 device across the world. This new updated operating system brings lots of new features to the Windows Phone user.

And Microsoft has announced that a new feature will come soon on the Windows Phone 8.1. Microsoft unveils the Folder support coming to Windows Phone 8.1 update. With the help of this folder support the user will be better able to organize their Start Screen. The Folder support of Windows Phone is much similar to the folder support of Android and iOS.

Create Folder on Startscreen of the Windows Phone 8.1

The Folder helps you to organized the Startscreen of your Windows Phone. With the help of Folder feature, you can placed same things in a one folder. Example- All the games and apps are coming in a same folder. For music and videos  you can create another folder. After creating a folder you can name it, resize it move it and add or remove tiles from whenever you want on your Startscreen of the Windows Phone.


You have to follow these steps to create a folder, name a folder  –

  1. On the  startwindows logo, tap and hold the Tile.
  2. Drag the Tile on the top of another Tile that you want to have in the same folder (according to your choice). You have just created a folder!
  3. To name the folder, tap  Name folder,  and then type whatever name you like.
  4. TO add another Tile to the folder, simply tap and hold a Tile, and then drag it into the folder.

With this feature you can  add more applications into your new folder by dragging them to the folder, and remove apps by dragging them out. Folders can be moved and resized, just like Tiles.
