Flipclass, Indian EdTech Startup raises $1 Million

FlipClass, Indian Edtech startup based out of Bangalore has raised $1 Million in funding from S. Chand Group as well as Blume Ventures. This is S. Chand Group’s Second investment in less than a month, after it invested in TestBook, another EdTech startup in the country. The raised funding will be used to scale as well as improve technology in the time to come.

FlipClass, founded in 2013 by Vineet Dwivedi is known for providing home tutoring solutions. It lists down the available tutors in an area and then helps the parents find the best one for their kid. The students are charged on monthly basis depending on the number of hours they use the service.

As of now, the startup boasts of having over 10,000 tutors registered on the platform. Also, it claims to have delivered a total of 200,000 hours of home and online tuition.

Talking on the development, Vineet Dwivedi, CEO at Flipclass mentioned that it is indeed a pleasure having S Chand as an investor. The startup will look into the possibilities of integrating S Chand’s content into the platform and look to make a better use of the collaboration.

This was the second investment raised by FlipClass. The startup had raised $250K (INR 1.5Cr) in angel funding.
