Education Startup, Fastudent raises unspecified sum in seed round

The education based Indian Startup, Fastudent has raised an unspecified amount in seed round of funding from a group of Angel investors led by Ashish Gupta, who is founder and trustee of Ashoka University. The company will use its fund to improve its technology and expand its reach and human resources. The company is planning to hire more than 90 people in next six months.

Fastudent is a Noida based startup that deals with educational products for students, parents, schools and different levels of teachers ranging from playgroups to post graduate level. The startup offers educational products for all academic needs.

The company was started by IIT-IIM alumni, Gaurav Barman and Geetanjali Khanna. As of now, Fastudent offers more than 20,000 SKUs in eight categories that include Books, merchandise, stationeries, uniforms, sports products, digital items, academic products and games. The company is planning to expand its categories up to 32 in next few months.

According to the company, this is a promising platform for best and high quality products for educational institute in India. Currently, the Fastudent offers its service for more than 20,000 pin codes across India and the company is looking to expand its geographical reach rapidly. The company is aiming to have more than 10 Million paying subscribers by the end of 2018.
