Facebook allows you to add GIF as profile picture

Facebook has announced a new type of profile picture option, which allows people to use looping video for the profile picture. So you can add looping video, which looks like GIF to your profile picture. Users have to film a short video of about 7 seconds through your Facebook Mobile app.

The company said in a statement, “Soon, you’ll be able to film a short, looping video clip that will play for anyone who visits your profile,” This video will play on the loop in silent mode. This new loop video option for profile picture is quite amazing and looks great.

This is not the only change that the social media giant has announced, as the company has added a new feature to add a temporary version of profile picture. After a specified time, you profile picture will be back to normal, once you add a temporary profile picture.

This new temporary profile picture option can be pretty useful in some scenarios like when you are on vacations or watching some particular sports games or attending some conference. Facebook is calling this “a visual status update”.

Facebook is also going to give users better control on their profile layout. People can now edit the information that is going to be shown at the top of the profile page on the mobile, you can even choose up to five Featured photos.

Facebook says that the new features will be available for some of iPhone users currently and it is going to be available for everyone pretty soon.
