Epson Print Enabler : Allows printing from Android KitKat devices

Epson has launched an app called Epson Print Enabler which now allows the printing from Android KitKat 4.4 Smartphones and Tablets over Wi-Fi. This app enhances the built-in Android printing system which lets you print a wide range of Epson laser and inkjet printers. You can choose the documents to print directly from the Drive, Chrome, Gmail, Gallery, Quick Office, Photos and more. After downloading the files you can easily print the emails, Webpages, photos and documents from the built-in menu of the apps that supports the Android printing.

  • Print the documents directly from the compatible Android smartphones and tablets running on Android 4.4 or higher to Epson laser or inkjet printers.
  • Manage your print jobs from your Android smartphone or tablet.
  • Print the required documents directly from the Photos, Chrome, Gallery, Gmail, Quick Office and Google Drive and more applications that supports the printing function.
  • Ability to select the print options such as paper size, color, number of copies, layout, print quality and both sided printing.

Any Android developer now can incorporate Android printing using the standardized API’s to add the printing capabilities to their apps by making some minimal code changes. You can discover the available printers and choose from them, change the paper sizes and select the specific pages to print from the file.

The company says that more than 60 new and legacy Epson wireless enabled printers are compatible with the new plugin. Check this link for the list of the compatible printers . Epson has launched the mobile printing support for the Amazon Kindle Fire tablets last year. Its main rival HP is already having the similar type of app which supports its own printers.
