Dipper, Delhi based marketplace for freight logistics has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from an undisclosed investor. The raised funds will be used in marketing & building the brand along with hiring more manpower in Delhi and other regions. A part of the funding will also be used in scaling up the operations. The team also plans to implements a few new technologies including tracking devices, sensors etc.
Dipper, started in September 2015 by Jalan and Ayush Sayal, provides a technology based platform equipped with IoT based devices to transporters and truck owners.
Speaking on the problem faced by the transporters, Jalan commented that there are a number of issues faced by the truck owners, including the vendor discovery, payment collection and processing, smart management of resources and employees and maintenance. Dipper looks to solve all of those problems of the truck owners with the help of technology.
The operations of Dipper were started at the beginning of this year. Currently, it claims to be handling over 1500 tonnes of material every month. With over 2000 technology enabled trucks on its platform, it has a great presence on the Delhi Kolkata route and counts Tata Steel, Indian Oil Corporation as its clients.
Currently, it is charging the customers a fixed fee for the SaaS product it offers and claims to be having over INR 50 lakhs in revenue every month.
