DailyHotel launches in 10 new Asian countries

DailyHotel, the Korean app which lets the travelers find hotel rooms quickly has expanded to 10 new countries. The app is now available in Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Macau, Hong Kong, Japan, China and Taiwan.

Launched in 2013 by Ryan Shin and Jimmy Shin, the startup has raised over $10 Millions from Sequoia’s Indian arm. The correct numbers of investment, have not been disclosed though.

Out of all the Asian markets, DailyHotel is focusing on Singapore and Indonesia. It has reportedly listed 300 and 2000 hotels in the countries respectively.

Speaking on this, Ryan Shin, CEO said that the startup is already on top in the home market. So they are looking for expansion. Over the years, DailyHotel has been an active partner for many hotels for striking deals and providing them with extra inventory by giving them last minute bookings for the hotel rooms which might go vacant on a particular day.

It has partnered with some world renowned brands such as Hilton, Marriott. The app has over 3000 rooms available at any point of time, with over 70 to 80% discount.
