Delhi Mandi, the online portal which serves as an online retailer for fruits and vegetables, has been acquired for an undisclosed amount by Daily Delite, the company which runs a number of supermarkets in Delhi NCR area. This is the second acquisition by Delhi Delite.
Speaking on the development, Tushar Gupta, Co-Founder Delhi Mandi stated that the acquisition will help the parent company is acquiring more customers in B2C domain. Delhi Mandi provides its services through the website and the mobile application.
Started in March 2015 by the duo of Dinesh Gehlot and Amar Solanki, Delhi Mandi is serving over 5000 families in Southwest Delhi. It currently delivers over 150 types of fruits and vegetables at the doorstep of customers.
The latest deal comes weeks after Delhi Delite had acquired another service delivering fruits and vegetables named Lemon Leaf. Also, right after acquiring, the founders of Daily Delite, who are also acting as founders of Lemon leaf after the exit of its original founders, have started seeking funds to expand the business. With the new venture acquired, there might be another news soon about raising a decent round of funding.
The hyperlocal delivery services working in the fruits and vegetables sector have attracted a lot of deals lately. Some of the notable deals in the space include Mumbai based White Shadow raising INR 2.5 CR as well as Siddhivinayak Agri Processing closing its series B round led by Lok Capital in January this year.
