But the problem is file format compatibility, Google host the books in the website in ePUB format which is not compatible with Amazon Kindle reader. Either you need to convert those ePUB files into a compatible one which is MOBI or AZW format or you have be limited to only Amazon book store to read books.

If you are also facing the same issue then I have an solution to convert Google Books to Kindle format so that you can download books from Google and read them in Kindle. There is software called Calibre that manages to convert file formats one into another. Calibre can also convert Google eBooks to Kindle’s AZW3 format which is supported by the new Kindle Touch and Kindle Fire devices.

How to Convert Google Books to Kindle Format

Here is the step by step guide to covert .ePUB file (Google Book file format) to MOBI or AZW (Kindle ebook reader format). Follow the guide and start reading Google Books on your Kindle reader.

Calibre

Step 1: First of all download any books from Google Books, make sure the file you are downloading is in ePUB format, download option you will find at top right corner, download it and save it in your PC.

Step 2: Install and Open the Calibre software that you have just downloaded on your desktop and press the “A” key on the keyboard to add the ePUB file to your Calibre Library. Alternatively, you may click the “Add Books” icon in the Calibre toolbar and choose the first option that says “Add books from a single directory.”

Step 3: Now that the ePUB books which you have added inside Calibre, select the book and press “C” key on your PC to open the conversion menu. (You can also choose the Convert Books option manually from the toolbar). Here change the Output format from ePUB to either MOBI or AZW3 (for newer Kindle models, there must be other formats as well) and click the OK button. Depending on the size, you need to wait for completion of the conversion, to see the progress bar, press Alt+Shift+J.

Step 4: By default, you will find the converted file inside the C:/users/(username)/Calibre Library. Later you can change the default path to a convenient one from the files option.

Step 5: Now connect your Kindle eBook reader and transfer those converted Google Books and check whether is is working fine or not. If still it is not working then you can try for other supported file format.
