Canvera Digital gets $2.2 Million from Info Edge

Bangalore based photography startup, Canvera Digital has received $2.2 Million from Info Edge, which is the parent company of Naukri.com, Shiksha, 99acres and matrimonial website Jeevansathi.com. Info Edge has also invested in the startup earlier, it had invested $5.3 Million in 2012, nearly $680,000 in 2013 and $1.5 Million in 2014. With this latest investment of $2.2 Million, Info Edge owns 49 per cent stake of the startup.

Info Edge has also invested in some other online companies like PloicyBazaar, Mydala and Zomato among others. The company had invested almost $4 Million in Applect Learning Systems Private Limited and $ 968,231 in Big Stylist.

Canvera Digital is an online photography startup, which was founded by Dhiraj Kacker and Peeyush Rai in 2007. The startup has entered eCommerce space in 2011. The startup offers various photography solutions like photo book printing, web hosting, online collaborations and some others.



Users can also search and hire photographers on daily or hourly basis. One can hire photographers for different occasions like weddings, fashions, events, travel and other events. Currently, the company has its offices in Bangalore (Head quarter), Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad.



Canvera Digital had also raised unspecified amount of funds from Footprint Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Mumbai Angels and two other UK based angel investors in 2008. The startup offers a very useful platform for photographers, where they can improve their skills. It allows them to show their portfolios and also let them setup online stores. The online platform has different subscription plans that range from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 12,500 per month.
