According to the latest report which claimed that the famous multi-platform game Candy Crush Saga would not be launched in the Windows Phone platform. From the report which said that the game was in development for the Windows Phone since January 2014 along with a number of popular games like Farm Heroes Saga from the developer. But the French gaming website Pocket Gamer.fr. has reported that developer ‘King‘ has made the decision to put all their Windows Phone projects on indefinite hold.
The reports is also claimed that the decision taken is mainly by the games developer due to the poor commercial performance of Windows Phone platform. The Microsoft share in the smartphone market has been declining steadily, while Android and iOS have gained more popularity. In the last quarter of 2013, Windows Phone’s market share was just 3.2%, down from the 3.6% it held three months earlier.
And another recent report by Opera has revealed that in the fourth quarter of 2013, Windows Phone generated only 0.35% of all mobile ad revenue. It is not a first time when app developers has said that they are not interested to launch there game or app in the Windows Phone platform.
