Cabsguru raises unspecified sum in Angel round of funding

New Delhi based Cab service provider, Cabsguru has raised unspecified amount in angel funding from a group of investors at its valuation of $3.5 Million. Cabsguru is a platform that allows users to search, compare and book cabs from different cab aggregators. The company will use the freshly raised funds for strengthening its product.

Vikash Singh and Pulkit Ahuja had started Cabsguru back in 2014. Cabsguru is a platform that allows users to search for cabs and compare prices of the cabs before choosing it. The platform provides these solutions at a click of the button. As of now, the company offers its services in 75 cities.

Cabsguru is currently first third party app that provides complete cab solutions to the end users via one single search. It shows booking and tracking option of cabs from multiple cab service providers like Ola, Taxi For Sure, Easy Cabs, Meru and others. Users can also check the ratings of the cabs from different cab aggregators via Cabsguru app.

Recently, the startup has launched multiple cab operator cab search and booking bot called Robocab. Robocab is designed to solve most common and annoying “no cab available” problem of every users at the peak hours of the day.

The co-founder of Cabsguru, Pulkit Ahuja said, “Robocab ensures that the Cabsguru users don’t have to sit and keep juggling between different cab apps like Ola, Uber, Taxi For Sure, Meru and Easy Cabs during rush hours until they find a cab. Robocab handles this for the users based on their predefined preference of time, cab operator, cab type and surge pricing. Robocab’s backend design is based upon the algorithmic trading of stocks, the only difference being that instead of buying stocks, Robocab indulges in booking cabs based on a selected set of rules defined by the user.”

As of now, the Cabsguru has 120K organic users and handles 100K cab search, comparison and booking request on monthly basis.
