Car repair service provider, Bumper gets $500K in seed funding

Bangalore based startup, Bumper that provides the solution to all kind of car problems, has received $500k in Seed round of funding led by SAIF partners. The company is looking to use the fund to build a knowledge portal for tech experts for solving all kinds of car related problems. It will also use the fund to improve its customer experience.

The company was started this year and works as a platform to help its customers to solve any car related problems like dent, paint or any repair work. Currently, customers can book appointments for their car care and repair in more than 100 workshops in Bangalore. The startup is backed by Autoninja, which is currently working with 100 dealers in 26 major cities of India.

Co-founder of Bumper, Akhil Gupta said about the development, “There was a growing need for a comprehensive and trustworthy platform that could help car owners address all their car-related requirements. Today, customers really don’t know which is the best workshop in town, what really needs to be done to their car and what is the right price for the same. We are trying to solve this problem by aggregating verified workshops and service providers. Our app makes it easy to discover the right solution for your car problem and track real-time status as the job is being done.”

Mukul Singhal, Principal, SAIF Partners said, “By 2016, India’s vehicle sales would surpass Brazil, Germany and Japan making India the third largest market. With more vehicles on road, there will be a great need for a platform that can aggregate supply and demand sides for the car aftermarket in an efficient manner.”
