BookEventz raises an unspecified sum from Mumbai Angels and others

Founded by Shriti Chhajed and Harsh Baid in 2012, BookEventz has secured an unspecified sum in angel round of funding from Mumbai Angels and other angel investors. Other angel investors, who have participated in this round of funding, are Singapore Angel Network and Zishaan Hayath. The startup will use the fund for its aggressive marketing campaign as well as improving its back-end tech.

BookEventz is a Mumbai based event and venue booking platform, the startup was called as UrbanRestro initially. The platform allows its customers to book all kind of Food and Beverage services including restaurant and party bookings. Currently, the company has listed more than 2,000 vendors across 11 cities on its platform. According to the company, it has served 2,000 customers in November this year. More than 100 bookings are made through this platform with GMV over Rs. 1 Crore.

Harsh Baid, the co-founder of BookEventz said about the development, “With this round of funding, our focus will be on building products to make the whole booking process seamless for the users and to expand our service offerings for them so that they can book the whole event online and not just venues,” The company is looking to serve 20,000 customers per month by the end of July 2016.
