Bonhomia, the Delhi based startup which makes Tea and Coffee capsules, has raised investment from Kanwaljit Singh (Founder of Fireside Ventures) and ValPro capital (investment advisory firm). The financial details of the deal were not disclosed at the moment. Bonhomia is owned and operated by Indulge Beverages Pvt Ltd.
Speaking on the development, Anshuman Khanna, Director – ValPro Capital stated that the startup has a great and unique niche market which was never thought upon. The concept of a single serving of tea or coffee is set to grow with the growth in demand with the coming time.
The startup has tied up with the retail outlets across the country and it offers the products through their retail channels. Some of the notable names in the list of retailers are Nature’s Basket, GoodFood, Le Marche, FoodHall, Needs and Modern Baazar. The startup is also trying to capitalize on the increasing internet penetration by offering its products on the online stores such as amazon and snapdeal. It also caters to few of the best hotels in the country including The Taj Group, Hyatt Group, Starwood, The Oberoi Group and Ritz Carlton among others.
Bonhomia, originally launched as Indulge Beverages in January 2012 by Kunal Bhagat and Tuhin Jain sources tea and coffee from southern Indian states before roasting and processing it to finally make the capsules. The brand name, Bonhomia was adopted in March 2014.
Prior to the latest round, the startup had raised $1 Million earlier this year and last year, it had raised $2 million from a group of investors led by Kanwaljit Singh.
