Blocks Kickstarter lets you build your own smartwatch

Smartwatch market has been growing day by day, so a number of big companies are experimenting with modular watch. But a British Startup named Blocks Wearables has launched the Kickstarter for its modular watch. Till now, the startup has raised $250,000 on Kickstarter for making this modular watch.

The basic Blocks Watch face comes with traditional smartwatch features like activity tracking, color touch screen display, phone notification alerts, voice control and haptic feedback. If you want to add some more features, you have to buy some special modules. The first module features a heart rate monitor, NFC support, a mode that measures temperature, pressure and attitude, GPS support and one extra battery.

The company is offering Core, four modules of your choice and an adjustable clasp that fits your wrist at the standard Kickstarter package that starts at the price of $195. You can also get more modules by paying $30 more. People can order any number of modules and redeem your credit from Kickstarter at any time to purchase any future release modules.

The Blocks smartwatch will be compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones. The compatible iPhones are that runs iOS 8 or above operating system, whereas this smartwatch will work with all Android 4.0 and above smartphones. Currently, the watch comes with three different color options that include Marble White, Onxy Black and Sunrise Red.

The Blocks watches are IP67 water resistant certified and the startup is working towards IP68 certification. Once the watch is IP68 certified, you can take shower and swim with the smartwatch. The shipment of the Blocks smartwatch may start in May 2016.
