BedBathMore, India based online home furnishing portal has raised funding from AB Konnevik Group and Rocket Internet. The financials of the deal have not been disclosed.
Founded by Amit Dalmia in 2012, BedBathMore offers products related to bedroom, bathroom and other varieties of home decoration. Prior to the latest round, the startup, owned by Home Crafts online, had raised funding from Blume Ventures and other angel investors.
Speaking on the funding, Amit Dalmia stated that this is still a very early stage for home solution space in India and BedBathMore is trying to provide a disruptive solution which can be a one stop destination for all the home related needs. The website has been revamped in order to provide a better, seamless experience to the customers dedicated to their needs.
The platform is exclusive to India, however, it has shipped products to Dubai and New Zealand as well. It is working as an online distributor for brands like Dicitex Furnishings, King Koil Mattresses, Portico New York, brands like Esprit, Spaces, Swayam, Maishaa, Umbra, Corelle, Baaya Designs, Sanctum and Santorini Stoa Paris, Fisher West NY, St. Cloud and Bliss.
It is looking to provide an online platform where users can try and see the way the product will look on their walls. It has partnered with various enablers in the interior space such as paint companies, designers and architects. Over the last one year, the startup has acqui-hired startups like Crude Area, Paletly & Rebel Star and Homado to offer a complete and diverse solutions to the customers.
