BBC is currently planning to launch its own streaming service for TV series and movies next year. This is a good news for American fans of BBC, as the British broadcaster giant has made plans to launch the subscription based streaming service.

According to a report of The Guardian, the director general of BBC said, “We’re launching a new OTT [over-the-top] video service in America, offering BBC fans programs they wouldn’t otherwise get, showcasing British actors, our program-makers and celebrating our culture,”

There are some shows like Sherlock and Doctor Who available in America through deal with the networks, but still there are number of shows that are not available in the state. This new streaming service is likely to be monthly pay basis.

However, we don’t have any idea about the name and cost of BBC’s this upcoming service, nor do we know the exact time of its release next year. Also, we are unsure about the list of the shows that would be available in the service. But BBC’s general director said that this service is going to include content that Americans “wouldn’t otherwise get.”

If you want to stream the episodes of right away, you will also have option to buy the seasons and episodes of the shows via iTunes, Google Play and Amazon
