Few days ago, there were rumors suggesting that Asus will be uncovering its first Android Wear based smartwatch at an event this upcoming IFA tech show. Now, these speculations get a confirmation as the Taiwan based tech manufacturer has posted an explicit teaser on its official Twitter account.
According to the teaser, Asus is planning to reveal a smartwatch officially on September 3 at an event during the IFA 2014 tech show in Berlin. While it has not deliberately confirmed that it is a smartwatch, the graphics used in the teaser reveals a square-ish device similar to the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live. From the shape of the device in the teaser, we can infer that the Asus wearable could feature vaguely curved edges. However, it is clear that it will not have a circular shape as in the Moto 360 that will see the light of the day on September 4 in Chicago.
From the teaser, we cannot conclude anything else regarding the smartwatch from the stable of Asus, but Jonney Shih of Asus revealed some information about the device. It was claimed that the wearable will arrive with a slew of features seen in its competitors released by Samsung and LG. Consequently, Asus will have to rely on the form factor, exterior design and especially the pricing of the device to gain the attraction of potential buyers. Also, there are several reports suggesting that the Asus smartwatch could be priced between $99 and $149 that is pretty competitive to lure the consumers.
