AppsDaily raises Series ‘C’ funding



AppsDaily raises Series ‘C’ funding led by Zodius Capital and few other venture capitalists. AppsDaily is one of the retail distribution network to sell mobile apps and service to smartphone customers. The company offers wide range of products from mobile antivirus, mobile insurance, backup solutions, SOS, mobile privacy, mobile games and various other utilities.

AppsDaily is the first and only offline channel for mobile applications. One of the simplest and most convenient platform for all app needs for a smartphone user. The company facilitate for the customer to choose from an array of options and get their favourite apps installed on their phones in convenient and hassle free way.

AppsDaily offers products like Mobile Protection, Mobile Assurance, Mobile Security, Mobile Education, Mobile Games and Complete Protection.

The pack starts from Ultra, Complete Security, Security, Mini and Micro. Price ranges starts from Rs.299 to Rs. 2,499.

AppsDaily offers wholesome gaming experience and offers 3 plans ranging from Rs. 149 to Rs. 999. The validity will from a month to a year. The games are virus free, ads free, can be played offline too. Many games high definition and full versions of them, that yet to be released on Google Play.

Mumbai based company was founded in 2008 by Ajay Menon and Arun Menon. Arun Menon has graduated in Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai in 1999. He started his career in Tata Infotech as System Analyst. In 2000 he founded and became Chief Technology Officer of Ambrosia Infotech. He held the position for 8.7 years and in November 2008 he founded AppsDaily (formerly known as Onward Mobility).


Ajay Menon is the co founder and Chief Operating Officer of AppsDaily. He has done graduation from Khalsa School and co founded Ambrosia Consultants in 2000. He founded another company Ambrosia Infotech Ltd in 2000 and he is the director of the company. In 2006 he founded Fountainhead Miners and Traders P Ltd for which he is the director. He has commendable entrepreneurial skills.

The Board of Directors consists of Arun Menon, Ajay Menon – Founders of AppsDaily, Vani Kola – Managing Director, Kalaari Capital, Varsha Tagare – Director of Qualcomm Ventures, Rajiv Dadlani, Galina Chifina – Ru-net, Investment Officer and Gautam Patel – Managing Director of Zodius.

The management team has Scott McGregor – Chief Innovation Officer, Zubin Jimmy Dubash – Chief Strategy Officer, a group of Vice Presidents who are highly qualified in the field.


AppsDaily Solutions Pvt Ltd has received $20.9 million in funding. The company raised their Series ‘B’ funding in April, 2014 from Qualcomm Ventures, IndoUS Venture Partners (now rechristened as Kalaari Capital) and ru-Net Holdings. In March, 2015 the company raised Series ‘C’ funding from ru-Net Holdings, Kalaari Capital and Zodius Capital for $15.9 million.

Gautam Patel of Zodius Capital has joined the Board of AppsDaily as part of the deal. He said “AppsDaily provide an important bridge to the Indian digital consumer who wants access to best in class services but is still grappling with bandwidth availability and cost issues,”

The company has strength of 1,200 employees on its role spread across 10 officers and headquartered in Mumbai.
