By | October 7, 2014

It is expected that the big OTA is going to hit Android Wear devices around October 15th, but Google has just published the update for Android Wear companion app. This update take the app to the version 1.0.2 and it adds about 3 MB to the app. Google has yet not officially published the change log, but we have noticed few changes that the new version brings Google Play services for wearables version 6.1.11.

This update will effect the Android Wear device’s battery life and prepare this platform for the future capabilities and some of this may come in the OTA update. We still haven’t gone deep into this update yet, so we can’t say now what else could be hiding in depths. You can grab the updated version of the app from either Google Play Store or as an apk from the link given below.

You don’t need to bother about the apk, because this apk is signed by Google and it upgrades your existing app and the cryptographic signature guarantees that this apk file is safe to install and was not tampered in any way. Generally Google apps may take few days to get the update for all the users, so rather than waiting for it, you can download and install it like other APKs.

You can either download from the Google play store or as APK from the below link.
