By | June 20, 2014

While the Android 4.4.3 KitKat build is out only for a few weeks, Google appears to have silently rolled out an updated version of its operating system – Android 4.4.4 KitKat. This build is available for download on the numerous Nexus devices through the Nexus Factory Image page. By saying Nexus devices we mean the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

According to the scarce details that are revealed by the Nexus Factory Image page and the Google+ post from Sascha Pruter, Android Engineering Program Manager, this Android 4.4.4 KitKat version is a minor variant and comes with some security patches. The update is tipped to address the CVE-2014-0224 flaw that was discovered in OpenSSL. It is claimed that more details pertaining to this update will be made available within the next 48 hours.

As of now, there is no clear information if this Android 4.4.4 KitKat update will be rolled out to those Android devices made other manufacturers.

The Android 4.4.3 brought in an enhanced dialer with a new interface, more colors, bug fixes, stability improvements, security patches and battery drain fix caused due to camera.
