Amazon Launches Same-day In-store Collections in UK

Today Amazon announced a new same-day collection service, available free for Prime subscribers.The online retail giant will allow Prime members to have a package delivered to a chosen collection point within 12 hours, part of its Click & Collect service where as non. Prime subscribers will be able to use it for £4.99 per delivery.


In order to qualify for same-day collection, orders need to be placed between the 11.45 am and can be collected at any time after 4 pm. Even customers will get notifications telling that it has arrived it has arrived in store and will then need to pick it up before midnight. Even there is an option to order things on Sunday with this new service. Supporting newsagents and convenience stores across the UK will carry “Pass my Parcel” branding, which will highlight available pick-up locations for Amazon shoppers. As touched on above, Prime members will be able to use the service for free until the end of this year.

Over 500 stores and more are participating in collection service, which sees Amazon team up with newspaper and magazine distributor Smiths News, a division of Connect Group. More stores are planned to be added next year. Amazon Lockers to distribute physical goods to customers who would rather collect items than wait for a delivery.
