The Internet retailer might hop into a gathered business dominated by Apple Inc and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd.
The firm has recently been showing variants of the handset to engineers and developers in Seattle and San Francisco. It means to advertise the device in June and ship to market around the end of September, the daily paper referred to the unidentified sources as saying.
Amazon has made incredible strides into the hardware category as it looks to support offers of computerized contents and puts its online store if front of users. Amazon recently showed its $99 Fire TV video streaming box and its Kindle e-book readers and Fire tablets earlier captured U.S. market share after just a few years on the market.
The rumor about an Amazon-manufactured handset have distributed for long time, I mean for years, though executives have long ago experienced down aspirations to jump into a heavily focused and progressively immersed business.
Samsung and Apple, which once represented the lion’s offer of the handset business, are battling to uphold edges as new participants, for example, Lenovo and Huawei focus on the budget section.
To stand out from the rush, Amazon expect to dress its handset with screens that display 3-D images without a need for special glasses, the Journal said.
