Xiaomi, the most popular Chinese smartphone maker has started arriving in the rumor land as it said to be working on the sequel to the Redmi Note. Confirming the same, a purported image showing the rear panel and primary camera module of the alleged Redmi Note 2 has hit the webosphere.
The image of the Redmi Note successor has been leaked by from China and it shows the upper part of the back panel tipping at an 8 MP primary snapper with flash and a microphone. Also, the Mi logo is seen to be positioned below the camera module.
The 8 MP primary camera appears to be contradictory as the previous rumors have been suggesting a 20 MP unit on the next generation Redmi Note. The earlier rumors also tip at the incorporation of an octa-core MediaTek MT6595 processor paired with 3 GB of RAM. This chipset is likely to work on big.LITTLE architecture and house a quad-core Cortex A7 1.7 GHz cluster and a quad-core 2.2 GHz Cortex A17 cluster.
The other aspects of the yet to be announced Redmi Note 2 include a 5.5 inch display of unspecified resolution, 4G LTE and NFC connectivity and a 3,500 mAh battery. The device is rumored to come in four different storage options such as 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. While the pricing of the 128 GB model is not known, the rest are claimed to be priced at $165, $215 and $245 respectively.
