The consulting group Accenture has entered an agreement to acquire S3 TV Technology, a business unit that delivers consultancy, automated testing, service monitoring and diagnostic solutions to video service providers all over the world. The financial terms of the deal has not been disclosed.
Headquartered in Dublin, S3 (Silicon Software Systems) Technology consists of all the TV technology resources, assets and properties of S3 Group. The group hold more than 100 customers across 28 countries including Sky, Time Warner Cable, BT and UPC Cablecom.
Post acquisition, Accenture plans to combine S3 Technology’s StormTest platform into its in-house digital video services software and solutions, which is one among the firm’s communication, media and technology group. This integration is expected to help video service providers improve the quality and product of their services to keep up with the highly competitive market and help video businesses create ad evolve high quality products that can use linear-content through broadband (IP) and broadcast networks. Also, it can access the non-linear services like catch-up TV and video on demand (VOD) through broadband networks.
