6Degree, Indian Fashion startup raises $200K from IAN


6Degree, Hyderabad based fashion tech startup has raised $200K from Indian Angel Network. The investment was led by Abhishek Agarwal of IAN and he will be joining the company board post investment. The raised funds will be used to strengthen and enhance the technology along with working on reaching out to more potential customers. The startup is also planning to launch a few more services and the best of them includes launching an enterprise solution for upcoming fashion weeks in various parts of the country.

Launched in 2014 by Amit Bhardwaj and Nikhil Hegde, 6Degree aims to enhance the fashion industry with the use of technology and to bring like minded people on its platform to leverage the experience by uniting the interlinked fashion verticals.

The startup works with the fashion professionals and helps them showcase their talent and also brings more fashion related professionals including bloggers, stylists, brands, models and photographers on one platform. The fashion industry has been on a rise for a long time now and 6Degree helps the artists to showcase their work and creativity to people all over the world.

It has partnered with a few notable names in fashion industry such as Lakme Fashion Week, India Beach Fashion Week, India London Fashion week to name a few. In the first year, the startup achieved the milestone of generating the revenue of INR 1 Cr and it boasts of having over 2500 fashion professionals on the platform already.

Speaking on the development, Nikhil Hegde, CEO 6Degree stated that India has been one of the greatest fashion markets and it constitutes of over 10% of the $1 Trillion fashion market. Indian have been spending a lot on designer fashion wears with a tad interest towards the international brands. We plan to bring technology to make the whole mechanism more efficient by bringing fashion designers and fashion weeks on one platform.
